Here are the opportunities that we have available for you to volunteer with us. By getting involved, you help us shape our services. Our groups run in a variety of different ways and meet either online, in person, hybrid (a mix of online and in person) or via providing input via email.

If you would like to find out more, or have any ideas please email the Community Engagement Team at hello@fairhive.co.uk

Resident Forum

The Resident Forum is a voluntary group of residents who are actively involved in working with us to improve services. The group helps bring about improvement to services by providing feedback on service provision, undertaking reviews on the quality of service performance, satisfaction, complaints, value for money, influencing the formation of resident-related policies, and decisions about housing and resident related services.

The forum generally meets once a month (with the exception of August and December). We welcome any resident of Fairhive, whether you are in our general needs properties, shared ownership, leaseholder or our independent living schemes.

If you are interested, please let us know and we can invite you to observe our next meeting.

Resident Complaint Review Group

Meeting quarterly to review recieved resident complaints to make sure we are doing what we say we will and having direct input into the complaints process.

Design Development Group (DDG)

A group including members of staff from every team within Fairhive and involved residents that meet on an adhoc basis to review potential new housing developments, provide comments and identify possible impacts.

Estate Services Group

We aim to meet quarterly across the year to discuss, monitor and scrutinise Estate Services (grounds maintenance, cleaning of communal areas and caretaking) performance and to look to see how – through resident engagement, feedback and involvement - we can improve the Estate Services that are provided to our residents. We also provide information and updates around our wider Environmental Improvements Projects as well as carrying out Block Cleaning and Grounds Maintenance audits with involved residents.

Policy Review Group

We believe it is vital for our residents to have their say on potential changes and provide input on decisions that affect them directly. This is why we have a Resident Policy Review Group. The group of residents meet on an adhoc basis with the service manager of a policy when it is due for a review, or when a new policy is created. The aim is for the group to review the policy and provide feedback and suggestions.

Block Inspectors

If you live in one of our flatted blocks, your community caretaker carries out inspections. However, we need residents to be our eyes and ears to ensure the service being received meets our high standards.

What is a Block Inspector?

Being a Block Inspector involves inspecting the indoor and outdoor area of your building every quarter, using a checklist to help improve the cleaning, grounds maintenance and caretaking services you receive. It also allows you the opportunity to report any concerns or repairs to us. You will play a vital role in the way your block is looked after, no experience is necessary as we will provide training and support but you must live in a block. You can do your inspections within your own time, and are not required to attend monthly meetings.

How to become a Block Inspector?

If you would like to become a block inspector, or would like further information please contact hello@fairhive.co.uk.

Resident Panels

If you don’t have much free time to spare, but would still like to be involved, perhaps joining one of our resident panels would be better suited for you.

We currently are recruiting members for our Nurture Your Neighbourhood panel to assess applications made by residents to improve community areas and ensure best use of funding. Applications are sent out via email so can be reviewed in your own time and no need to attend meetings.

We’ve also launched our own employee recognition programme Leading Edge, but we can’t do it on our own we need your help by either making a nomination or judging the nominations made. This panel meets online once a quarter and it is a great way to find out how are employees excel in their work.

We highly value your ideas and opinions from a resident’s point of view, so we would like to contact you on different occasions to ask for your thoughts – it could be on a communication that we are sending out or to test an app or procedure. If you would like to be added to our contact list please email hello@fairhive.co.uk.
