Our emergency and vital services during the COVID-19 outbreak?

Some of the services we provide are vital to your safety and we have a legal obligation to keep you safe.

  • Gas testing will still be carried out for all residents except those who have a confirmed case or are experiencing symptoms of coronavirus (cough, temperature or shortness of breath). If you are self isolating (because you are in one of the groups that are most at risk from coronavirus, e.g. the elderly or people with underlying health conditions) please let us know before your appointment by emailing contact@vaht.co.uk. Extra precautions will be taken. You will be asked to disinfect the work area before our operative or contractor enters your home, and to wait in a separate room whilst the test is carried out. They will do the test as quickly as possible and will disinfect the area thoroughly before leaving.

  • Electrical testing will still be carried out for all residents except those who fall into one of the groups that are most at risk from coronavirus (e.g. the elderly and those with underlying health conditions) and those who have a confirmed case or are experiencing symptoms of coronavirus (cough, temperature or shortness of breath).

  • Cleaning of communal areas, for example in flatted block and Independent Living schemes, will continue.

  • Some essential caretaking services which are vital to health and safety will continue.

Some services will be carried out in emergencies.

  • Emergency repairs will be carried out for all residents. If you are self isolating (because you are in one of the groups that are most at risk from coronavirus, e.g. the elderly or people with underlying health conditions) please let us know when you contact us about the emergency. If you’re self-isolating because you are (or anyone in your household is) experiencing symptoms of coronavirus (cough, temperature or shortness of breath), please let us know when you contact us about the emergency, and be aware that it may be carried out by a specialist contractor.   • In exceptional circumstances, ASB and neighbourhood management visits will still be carried out, where there would be a significant risk to the resident’s safety without the visit.
