Trust Employees raise money for local charity

Trust employees selected Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG) to be our 2018 Christmas charity and they took part in many fundraising activities throughout December, raising a total of £1,570.

AHAG provides housing advice and support to any person over the age of 18 years, who is defined as ‘not in priority need’ within the Aylesbury Vale. The charity has grown in size since 2009 and now has six members of staff plus a number of volunteers who underpin the work they do.

AHAG Director of Operations, Karen Warner was delighted to receive the cheque from the Trust Chief Exec, Matthew Applegate and said: "I am overwhelmed at the generosity of the Trust and its employees and really appreciate the support that it gives to AHAG. We will use this money towards the provision of Starter Packs for people who AHAG have housed. The packs include bedding and kitchen essentials and will make a huge difference to people as they rebuild their lives".

Matthew added: “We were all delighted to support such an important local charity and the work they do to provide all the ongoing support for anyone accessing emergency accommodation, which is crucial in keeping people safe and secure”.
