Census 2021

Census 2021 logo

The census is a survey that happens every 10 years and gives a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. It's important because the information collected is used to inform decisions such as how to fund local housing improvements.

Census day for 2021 is on Sunday 21 March and you're encouraged to complete the census on this day or as soon as possible afterwards!

Once you've received your letter with your 16-character access code, you can fill in the census online or if you cannot complete it online, you can request a paper census and post it back.

The letter you are sent will include a leaflet with information on filling in the census, but if you need further help, online drop in sessions to provide support to fill it in are being provided on the following dates:

  • Saturday 13th March 2 – 3pm

  • Monday 15th March 1 – 3pm

  • Wednesday 17th March 1 – 3pm

  • Thursday 18th March 5 – 6pm

  • Saturday 20th March 3 – 5pm

  • Sunday 21st March (Census Day) 1 – 6pm

  • Monday 22nd March 1 – 3pm

Click this link to join an online session and get support to fill in the 2021 census.
