Home Ownership Team

As well as managing 7,250 affordable homes, the Trust also manages and provides services for close to 600  properties on behalf of our leaseholders.

Our Home Ownership Team was set up in January 2007 to service the needs of Homeowners and to help form and liaise with the Leaseholders Representative Group, (LRG).

The LRG is an elected group that represents the leaseholders in their dealings and negotiations with the Trust. The group is currently chaired by Keith Nials. 

Review of new services 

We are reviewing a number of new services to offer to leaseholders, so that you can benefit from our contracts.

Currently these include:

Digital TV Receiver Upgrade

Depending on where your property is situated, you will be able to upgrade your TV reception before the Government’s new roll out of digital TV transmissions, scheduled for 2012. There is an installation cost, which will be added to service charges. For more information please contact the Home Owner Team on 01296 732600 or emails homeowners@vaht.co.uk.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

You can purchase a Carbon Monoxide Detector from the Trust for £20.00. Please contact the Home Owners Unit, as above, for more information.

Home Contents Insurance

We are pleased to offer My Home contents insurance, arranged through the National Housing Federation, to all residents, including leaseholders. The scheme is run in association with Jardine Lloyd Thompson who will handle all enquiries and arrange cover for you.
 
The cover can be arranged from as little as £3.17 per month for those aged under 60 (£2.25 for leaseholders aged 60 & over) and can cover sums insured up to £35,000.

If you are sub-letting your property, we have negotiated with the Insurance Company to also include your tenants too. Please pass this information to your tenants.
