Freeholders

When your house was sold by the Council (or more recently by the Trust) there were conditions attached to the sale which are legally binding. These conditions are called covenants and are listed in the conveyance document, which will be held either by you, your building society or your solicitor.

The most significant of these are the ones relating to modifications to the property, which you cannot do without our permission. This is not the same as planning permission.
