Supporting people to live independently

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy their independence, for as long as they can. Our Supported Housing schemes ensure that older or vulnerable people can lead an independent life, in a secure and friendly environment.

Supported Housing is suitable for people over the age of 60 (although your spouse may be younger) who require low level support.

Each scheme has a Supported Housing Officer, who will help you retain your independence and be on hand should you require support.  They are not available 24 hours a day and cannot provide nursing or home-care services. However, they can contact liaise with other agencies to arrange for additional help for residents, or support with welfare benefits. Please note, the Supported Housing Officer cannot handle residents’ finances or administer medication.

Every flat has a 24-hour personal alarm service, which enables you to call for help in an emergency. The Trust’s lifeline system ‘First Contact’ is simple to operate and is also available to anyone in the Buckinghamshire area, including non-Trust residents.

The Trust has 16 schemes in various places around the Vale:
