Racial Harassment
We take reports of racially motivated harassment very seriously. Under no circumstances will we tolerate our residents or employees suffering abuse and intimidation on the basis of their ethnic origin, religion or any other perceived difference.
What is Racial Harassment?
Racial harassment is any action or conduct targeting people that is or is perceived to be because of their race, culture or ethnic origin.
Racially abusive behaviours can include:
- Racist graffiti, especially on or near a victim’s home
- Verbal abuse, letters, phone calls, racist comments or language
- Physical assault or the threat of physical assault
- Damage to property, arson or attempted arson
- Leaving rubbish or offensive items near a victim’s home
What to do if you experience Racial Harassment
Contact the Trust immediately, or as soon as you are safely able to do so. We will treat your complaint seriously, sensitively and in confidence.
Keep a note of incidents of racial harassment, what happens and dates and times they occur.
